Status & Accreditation

CCVI is a not-for-profit corporation, chartered in the State of Missouri and exempt from federal income tax under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (#44-0574397).
- CCVI received the maximum five-year reaccreditation in December 2005 from the National Accreditation Council for Agencies serving People with Blindness or Visual Impairments (NAC).
- CCVI received the maximum five-year accreditation in August 2005 from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
- CCVI is a Missouri Department of Education approved private agency for children, ages birth to eight, who are blind or visually impaired, including those with multiple disabilities and for children who are deafblind.
- CCVI is also a Missouri Department of Health licensed childcare facility.

Our major fundraising event, the annual Sabates Eye Centers Trolley Run, is the largest four-mile run/walk in the U.S. with more than 10,000 adults and children participating! More than 800 volunteers work on the run, some year-round. Since 1989, the Trolley Run has raised more than $2.5 million for CCVI.
