Volunteer
There are a variety of ways to make an impact on the life of a child through one of the most valuable gifts of all: time. CCVI is home to a historic volunteer program that spans throughout the organization for the past 70 years. When you volunteer at an event or in a classroom, children at CCVI understand that there are advocates for them in the community. They understand that their future is easier with you in it. You can be the difference-maker for CCVI children.

CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS
Support a CCVI teacher by being a helping hand around the classroom, assisting lessons, or providing support to students that need it.
STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
Sometimes a child needs the influence of a young adult. If you’re a student (ages 14+), sign up to assist classes, help at special events, and more.
Donate

Events
Each year, CCVI hosts events that help raise funds and get the community involved in the mission— here’s an open invitation! Whether it’s the historic Trolley Run or the formal Illuminate gala, these can’t miss events are a tangible way to provide support for children with visual impairment.
The CCVI Trolley Run isn’t just CCVI’s biggest fundraiser of the year. It’s one of the biggest timed four-mile races in America. Join us each April to race along the old trolley tracks while giving back to the families of CCVI. Founded by a CCVI family, Illuminate was created to bridge the gap for other families who may not be able to afford their child’s tuition. This cocktail party brings Kansas City together under one roof to celebrate the future success of CCVI students.
